Tuesday 17th
March
The Ceremony and Reception venue, Moritzino’s,
are at the top of the Piz La Ila Telecabine and Bamby Chairlift.
We are hoping most people will ski to the venue. It is
accessible on skis from San Cassiano in approx. 15mins via the Piz Sorega lift,
a short red run (La Freina) and the Bamby Chair. This is also possible on two blue runs blues
using the La Brancia chair and then Bamby chair.
You will be greeted on arrival and will have an
opportunity to deposit any bags at Moritzino’s before the ceremony. The
ceremony site is a short push on skis/walk (80m) from the lifts &
restaurant.
3.30pm Open air wedding ceremony in the
sunshine/blizzard on the top of the surrounded by the GLORIOUS Dolomites.
4–4.45pm The Happy Couple ski off followed
by all that are able and willing to follow! Non- skiers/those with children will
be shown to the reception at Moritzino’s.
4:45– 6.30pm Bubbles and nibbles with time to get
changed for those who wish
7pm–11pm Dinner and the odd speech
11pm til late Disco, drinking, dancing and general
merriment
Carriages Snowcats will return you to
San Cassiano in groups (up to 18). These are heated and the journey will take
around 45 mins. There is the chance to ski down in front of the snowcat after a
short ride if you are not too..er… “tired” (please bring a headtorch!).
The Venue
Moritzino’s is a refuge style restaurant very near the ceremony that is
only accessible until the last lifts
closes at 4:45pm. There is a large back room where we’ll have changing
areas and an area for children to play/sleep.
Dress
We are not
precious about what you wear. Suits/fancy frocks/retro ski gear/top hat and
tails/tweed/Russian head-gear/hunting attire/traditional alpine dress/wacky
hats all brilliantly acceptable. Just dress for a winter ski wedding and
indulge our sense of humour and informal Big Day. To give you a better idea, we
currently have several guests planning to wear one-piece retro 80/90’s skiwear
and others wearing top hat and tails. One is even wearing a wedding dress!
Please bear in mind that you’ll need to ski/walk to and from the ceremony, stay warm for up to 45 minutes outside (unless the weather’s awful) and that once you’re at the venue there won’t be an easy escape until snowcat time (although it would be possible if absolutely necessary!). There will be somewhere to change out of ski gear so do bring a rucksack with a change of shoes/clothes for the evening if you wish.
